DISHAI - Bulgarian punk
DISHAY is a punk band from Dobrich, formed in 1988 by Drago Tsukev, the main songwriter. He also came up with the name, which is a metaphor for life. The main idea was to play raw punk with lyrics in Bulgarian that were relevant and provocative for their time. The other members of the band were students at the time. They performed in Dobrich, Ruse, and Albena. For two consecutive years (1988-1989), they won the audience award at the festival for original music in their hometown. In 1990, the band split up, with three of the members continuing with FIFTH CRIPPLES BAND. Dragomir Tsukev left for the United States, where in 2006-2007 he played in the band Stale Food, with whom he released the album Bad Dream.
